Back Bay Fountain metal print by Karen Strangfeld. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

I've spent so much time in Boston's Back Bay. I've worked there, lived there, travelled through it's streets more times than I can count, and I know it to be a neighborhood alive with activity! Turn down any street at any point in the day and you will find cars, pedestrians, cyclists rushing to get somewhere. To the office, to the store, to class.... But during the summer, if you're lucky, you stumble upon a spot like this, where people are more likely to stop, sit down, and soak in a little tranquility. This fountain, right next to the Prudential, is one where busy office workers bring their lunch, sit, and soak in the sun, and young parents watch their children play in the fountain. It is a small sliver of what it's like on a slow hot day outside the city, with the city bustling all around. To me, this feels like that moment in a movie when the hero/heroine stops hearing all the busy noise around them, those ambiet noises quiet down to a slow-motion nothing, and all they see is the p...
About Karen Strangfeld
I'm a New England native, with a BA in Studio Art, Art History, Museum Studies. I've spent over a decade working at one of Boston's largest art museums, and now live out in a tiny town in northern central New England. My painting style is loose modern impressionist landscapes and cityscapes. I see my work as being similar to a novelist exploring a new character. A brushstroke goes down as a sentence, and the next one becomes more clear. I meet the character as I create it. And I learn a bit more about myself with each new work. I believe that a painting should be something that shows you something new every time you look at it. Whether about yourself, and your reaction to it, or just an element in the scene you hadn't noticed...
